FFixer was previously released under the name Facebook Fixer. This page contains instructions for a smooth upgrade from Facebook Fixer to Fixer, making sure you keep your settings and have no conflicts between the two scripts. If you never had Facebook Fixer installed then you can just go ahead and install FFixer without any additional steps.

Follow the instructions for your browser:

If you have already installed FFixer and you are getting a warning that Facebook Fixer is still installed, you can still follow these instructions. Just skip the step that says to install the FFixer, since you did that already.

If you need more help, or run into problems, let me know via the discussion page on Userscripts.org.

Upgrading to FFixer in Firefox / Greasemonkey

These instructions are based on Firefox 3.6.3, but the steps should be the same in other versions of Firefox and other browsers with Greasemonkey.

If you don't want FFixer to use Facebook Fixer's settings, then you can skip steps 1 and 4.

  1. Log into Facebook®, click on "Accounts" and then "Configure Facebook Fixer". Go to the "Import/Export" tab, select all the text and copy it to the clipboard (CTRL+C or Edit > Copy). Either leave the text in the clipboard or paste it somewhere safe like a text editor (eg. Notepad).
  2. Go to Tools > Greasemonkey > Manage User Scripts. When the window opens select "Facebook Fixer" from the left-hand side and click "Uninstall".
  3. Go to FFixer's page on Userscripts.org and install it.
  4. Reload Facebook®, click on "Accounts" and then "Configure FFixer". Go to the "Import/Export" tab, delete all the text and paste the settings that you had copied earlier. Click "Import" and, after a confirmation dialog and a refresh, you should have all your settings again.

Upgrading to FFixer in Google Chrome and Chromium

These instructions are based on Google Chrome 4.1.249.1045, but should work in version 4+ of Chrome and Chromium.

  1. Click on the "wrench" menu and then "Extensions". In the page that opens, look for Facebook Fixer and click "Uninstall" in that line.
  2. Go to FFixer's page on Userscripts.org and install it.

(FFixer should automatically use your settings from Facebook Fixer)

Upgrading to FFixer in Opera

These instructions are based on Opera 10.51, but the steps should be the same in other versions of Opera.

Since Opera uses a folder of your choice to store scripts, all you need to do to upgrade is delete the Facebook Fixer script and put the FFixer script in that same folder. If you don't know which folder contains the scripts for Facebook, follow these steps:

  1. Go to any Facebook® page, right-click anywhere on the white background and select "Edit Site Preferences".
  2. In the window that appears go to the "Scripts" tab and look for the folder down at the bottom.

(FFixer should automatically use your settings from Facebook Fixer)
